RITES Quality Assurance (QA) Division, one of the biggest Divisions in RITES, is engaged in Quality Assurance and Third Party Inspection activities in various disciplines since 1974. It is one of the premier Quality Assurance Organizations with impeccable credentials having ISO 9001:2015 Certification from NVTQC and ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation from National Accreditation Board of Certification Bodies (NABCB) under QCI for its Third Party Inspection services. RITES QA division achieved QCI-DL Shah Quality Award- 2016 at 11th National Quality Conclave held at New Delhi and Golden Peacock National Quality Award in the year 2017. RITES QA Division has been awarded Active Customer Engagement Trophy by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for its customer focused approach in providing Third party inspection services to its clients.

RITES (QA) is a Multidisciplinary Third Party Inspection (TPI) Agency for Indian Railways, other Central & State Government organizations, PSUs and many reputed Private Companies. It has a network of 5 regional and around 30 sub-regional locations across the country with dedicated team of more than 300 Engineers including highly qualified inspection professionals from top institutes such as IITs, NITs etc. with high level of technical and managerial expertise and experience in different disciplines like Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Civil Engineering. Testing for variety of items is also being done through RITES QA Labs which includes two regional laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by NABL.

RITES QA Division undertakes Third Party Inspection (TPI) of all engineering items including various types of Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics items / components & assemblies, Machine & Plants (M&P), Bridge Girders, track items etc. The QA Division carries out in process & final product inspection of Rails, Plant and Machinery, Wheel sets, Wheel and Axle, Springs and other components of rolling stock in India as well as abroad. Third party inspection work abroad for various items was conducted by QA Division personnel in Japan, China, USA, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Germany, France etc. for Indian Railways and wagon manufacturers. Currently, inspection in foreign countries is being routed through our MSM SBU. All the rails procured by Indian Railways are inspected by QA Division at Bhilai Steel Plant,Bhilai and Jindal Steel and Power Plant at Raigarh.

QA Division has performed in-house Inspection of manufacturing activities including final coach inspection at ICF and the similar work is being done currently for MCF.Vendors Capability & Capacity Assessment is also being done on behalf of Indian Railways (i.e. RDSO, RCF etc.), NSIC, other Govt. and Pvt. Bodies.

QA Division executes third party inspection services in a transparent manner where most of the management operations are controlled online. It provides facilities to the clients for online access to inspection status of material under inspection.
